There’s a lot of talk out there about “power” in the golf swing.
Let me give you the truth about power in the golf swing … and it’s based on physics and kinesiology.
There are two sources of power in the golf swing and one of them is your wrists.
If you’re serious about hitting powerful, accurate shots consistently, then here’s one thing you must understand …
Yes … you must have speed in your swing to get power and to square the clubface to the target at impact.
But, when most golfers try to get this power, they do EXACTLY THE WRONG THINGS …
They get some flex in their wrists early, then lose this angle at the transition. This move is called “casting” and it happens mainly because golfers know they want to hit the ball a long way.
Your brain, in order to get this speed, tells your entire body to get this speed RIGHT NOW.
And so you get the speed at transition … instead of just past the impact point.
High handicap golfers usually have another move in their swing. They bring the club to the inside in the backswing, then take the club way outside on the downswing.
But when you get the wrists working correctly, exactly the opposite happens and you get consistent and powerful ball-striking.
If you’re serious about getting an extra 15-30 yards off the tee … and becoming a more consistent golfer, then you must use those wrists correctly.
You want to load power into your wrists the correct way … then release that power at the right time.
In a minute I’m going to show you HOW to make this happen and WHEN to make this happen.

Maybe you’ve heard about “casting.” It’s wonderful for fishing but awful for golf. It’s a really common mistake. It basically means you will lose that all-important angle in your wrists at the transition.
When you “cast” the club, all the speed takes place before you hit the ball.
Not ideal.
You want maximum speed just after impact.

Your brain initially tells you to pull the club inside and around your torso. From this position, you will likely come “over the top” and this will lead to really bad pulls and the dreaded slice.
This leads to a lack of distance plus you will never be consistent. The ball could go anywhere.
